Understanding is the action
guiding people to better understand themselves—that they may be better understood by others.
Pathways of Exploration
-
Understanding Where We Come From
How can we know where we are if we don’t understand the roots of our being?
Understanding where we come from is an exploration of Indigenous wisdom. As we begin to explore what this connection means and how it takes shape, we will start by choosing projects led by Indigenous communities.
This is not an act of saving or protecting — we are not here to lead, but to listen. We are the students, they are our teachers. By offering resources with humility and respect, we move toward a way of being rooted in relationality, where learning happens through connection not consumption.

Understanding Where We Are Now
Who should have access to tools of introspection and self-understanding? Everyone.
Introspection is essential to self-understanding, and integral coaching is one approach to this kind of inner care. We want to increase access to introspective care — especially in communities that have historically lacked it.
Many people who could benefit most from this support either don’t recognize its value or can’t afford it. Additionally, new coaches rely on their community to build their practice. When those communities don’t understand the value of this work, coaches face even greater challenges getting started.
Our Approach
Both pathways begin with a deeper understanding of ourselves as an organization.
To learn where we can be most of service, we will start by adopting hyper focused, manageable projects that align with our mission. These initial efforts will help us build a responsive framework — one that’s shaped by the real needs of the communities we aim to serve. By starting small and staying intentional, we can deepen our impact while gradually building our infrastructure.
Our Projects
-
Mama Toto's Plantation
Mama Toto is a respected leader in a village near Lambaréné, Gabon, where many live modestly due to the lasting effects of French colonialism. Though the community owns fertile land, access remains difficult. To change this, Mama Toto is creating a path to her farmland and planting Iboga—a sacred tree used for healing and ceremony. Her efforts aim to nourish her people and revive a vital cultural tradition.

Motherly
Motherly is a coaching program for low-income and incarcerated mothers, using Integral Coaching to help participants reconnect with their inherent wholeness. By pairing mothers with certified coaches from similar backgrounds, it fosters trust, growth, and lasting change—while creating opportunities for coaches to build their practices. Starting with five mothers, each journey will be documented to build a model for wider impact.
